Ayan is accepting new clients.

Hi there, I’m Ayan (she/they) a dedicated, registered social worker (RSW) with experience in healthcare, community outreach, HIV care, substance use counselling, neurodivergence, and grief support. I bring a compassionate, trauma-informed, client-centered, and strengths-based perspective to my practice.

My journey began in my early 20s working in the shelter system and addiction services, where I developed a deep understanding of the complexities individuals face in their mental health journeys. This foundational experience laid the groundwork for my commitment to helping individuals navigate challenges and cultivate resilience.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations in various settings. These experiences have equipped me with a nuanced understanding of the intersectional issues affecting mental health, allowing me to tailor therapeutic interventions that are both effective and empowering.

I recognize the profound impact of past experiences on present-day functioning. My approach is rooted in empathy and collaboration, honoring each client’s unique strengths and perspectives. By fostering a safe and validating environment, I strive to empower clients to reclaim agency over their lives and achieve meaningful personal growth.

In therapy, I prioritize the therapeutic relationship above all else, believing that trust and collaboration are foundational. My approach is eclectic, allowing theories and modalities to organically integrate into our sessions as we work towards holistic healing. I meet individuals where they are, partnering with them to explore solutions and foster growth.

I received a degree in health science and psychology in 2013, then completed my master’s degree in social work as a mature student. I’m passionate about social justice and advocacy for folks who have been consistently marginalized by our oppressive society. I actively engage in initiatives aimed at promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma, believing in the power of education and solidarity in fostering inclusive and supportive communities.

Above all, I am deeply dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey towards healing and transformation. I look forward to collaborating with you on your path in therapy and mental health wellbeing.
