We work with 45+ insurers and can directly bill most on your behalf!
For those new to having benefits, benefits are an insurance product, provided by an insurer (like Manulife, Desjardins, Green Shield, Pacific Blue Cross, Sunlife, Canada Life, and others). Employers often help employees access benefits, but anyone can purchase benefits from an insurer. Some insurers allow practices like ours to direct bill so clients don’t pay out of pocket. Every plan is unique so please check yours for coverage and limits.
Do you have benefits? If yes, then our services are likely covered by your plan. We provide counselling/psychotherapy services by Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) and Registered Social Workers (RSW). The only difference is that RSWs don’t charge GST, whereas RCCs must.
Can we directly bill on your behalf? Probably. Most insurers allow counselling/psychotherapy practices to direct bill. To set this up, please email admin@peak-resilience.com the name of your insurer, policy and membership/certificate ID.
Check out this handy guide to know which insurers we work with. Please note that Pacific Blue Cross, Sunlife, and Canada Life cover RCC and RSW services, but do not allow us to directly bill on client’s behalf – this means you pay out of pocket and submit your receipt for reimbursement.
Pricing and Fees: Benefits often cover a large portion or 100% of the total fee for a session. If you are in financial difficulty, please ask your counsellor/psychotherapist about sliding scale or consider booking with a practicum student for lower cost counselling/psychotherapy.
Benefits often run out at the end of the calendar year. We recommend booking multiple sessions in advance to ensure you get the most value out of your investment (and your preferred time slot). The most common sessions booked are 50 minutes, in person or virtual. You can always change/move/cancel sessions up to 48h in advance. If you hate booking sessions online, please call 604 682 PEAK (7325) to book over the phone.
If your benefits plan does not cover RCC services, please send them this advocacy letter to try and get covered.
We look forward to helping you!
