Our Second DEI Audit Survey is Live
Diversity Equity and Inclusion at Peak Resilience: An(other) Invitation for Feedback

At Peak Resilience, we know mental health is impacted by oppressive forces in our society. Back in 2020 we asked Bakau Consulting to facilitate our first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion audit to determine our strengths and areas of growth when it comes to our commitment to challenging oppressive systems like white supremacy, patriarchy, and colonialism (to name a few). We received 33 responses from our community, and over the last year, we’ve been working to implement changes and training at Peak to continue to be a safer landing spot for all humans.

We found the process so helpful (thank you Bakau Consulting and everyone who filled out the survey) we’re going to do it again!

Our second annual DEI audit survey is now live! We want to hear from current and prospective clients as well as members of our community.  You can also find the link to complete the survey  in our Resilience Report, on social media, or on our scheduling site (your counsellor will probably mention it too).

This year we have added more questions in order to further understand how we can serve our clients and our community.

Here’s some changes you can expect this year:

  • Bakau Consulting has added different categories in the demographics section so there are more choices on how to identify yourself in terms of your race and gender identity
  • We’ve added some questions about money to determine how to share financial resources in our community
  • One of the most oppressed populations in the world are people who are labeled as ‘criminals’ through the justice system. We’ve added a question about criminal records to start assessing how many of our clients have them, and if these clients currently feel supported at Peak
    • If not, we would like to understand how to best support our clients who have experience with the justice system

We hope every client fills this out so we can learn as much as we can. In early 2022, we’ll publish our findings and plan of action. We are so grateful for your feedback and appreciate the time and energy it takes to complete this survey.

So please take about 10-15 minutes of your time to fill out our survey.  We’ll use the results to understand our areas of growth and continue to forward our commitment to embodying anti-oppressive care.  It is our hope that all practitioners in the counselling and psychotherapy community will be more inclusive.
