Erin Voith

RCC #20080

Erin Voith is accepting new clients.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Masters in Counselling from McGill University. I come to this work with 12 years of experience in mental health and community services settings.

My approach to counselling is centered on building a genuine and trusting relationship. My clients should feel fully seen, understood, and valued as the complex individuals they are – with both struggles and profound strengths. I tend to this relationship by practicing honesty, respect, vulnerability, and compassionate acceptance throughout our work together. I bring a warm, grounded, and sincere energy to sessions, punctuated by plenty of humor!

My passion lies in helping my clients navigate their unique personal struggles and the impact of larger harmful or limiting social norms. I am deeply curious about my clients’ journey, and committed to guiding them towards self-discovery, stronger interpersonal connections, and realizing their goals and potential. I achieve this by offering valuable insights, reflections, and practical tools. Furthermore, sessions become an important place for skills-building practice!

Our time together is an opportunity to slow down, consider, and deeply feel things. When we reconnect with our mind, body, and emotions, we often discover our inherent strength and a sense of direction forward. Rest assured, I’ll be there as needed – as a guide at times, and as a companion through hardship and success. I understand first hand that change, growth, and uncertainty are difficult to grapple with, and that we all need support at times to get through it.

Outside of my work, I enjoy time with family and friends, time with animals, and time outdoors. I love music and dancing. I’m also committed to the life long journey of learning about myself, the world I’m a part of, and how to do a little good while I’m here.

I look forward to meeting you and working together to better your life and help you reach your

What is your favourite thing about working closely with people every day?

Don’t make me choose one thing! I love discovering my clients, and helping them discover themselves. I believe we all have much more depth than we acknowledge, and it’s exhilarating to uncover parts of ourselves that we hid, or neglected, or didn’t even realize we had! I love hearing stories, being let in on vulnerable moments, and watching growth. It’s really a remarkable, remarkable gift to provide therapy.

What is a personal challenge that you have overcome in your own life?

Every few years a new challenge emerges! A common thread throughout them has been feeling far from myself and others. I’m quite sensitive, but I’d spent the bulk of my life disconnected from my feelings, and therefore disconnected from myself. This has changed dramatically in the last few years, as I’ve learned to tap in, listen to, and honour myself. And of course, I’m still learning what this means and involves.

What have you learned from your work?

I’ve learned that healing, change, and growth are all an ongoing process. By the time you have committed to therapy, your change is often underway, so congratulations! In addition, missteps and mistakes can be important opportunities, and can still take you closer to where you need or want to be. Lastly, connection and acceptance are valuable ingredients for riding the waves of this process.
