COURSE DESCRIPTION
This 30-hour, 5-week virtual certificate course prepares the experienced practitioner to provide resiliency-informed clinical supervision. Participants are guided in a review of models of supervision, and will learn the competencies required in supervision and how to apply ethical principles in this context. Participants in the course will work together and with the instructor to practice skills and apply theory.
This comprehensive course is designed to meet the needs of professionals working in agencies, universities or associations where clinical supervision training is required. It is suitable for those with a relevant Master degree or a BA/ BSW with extensive experience in the field.
COURSE STRUCTURE
The 30-hour course is structured to include lectures, discussion groups and practice opportunities for clinical supervision and will run for 5 Fridays from 9 am to 2 pm. Participants will be encouraged to record and share their practice to support the depth of learning clinical supervision, as well as advanced considerations for supervising supervision.
Jennifer Hollinshead instructs the course, using examples from various mental health settings to break down clinical supervision and consultation in practical, readily applicable ways. Jennifer started her counselling career in 2006 as a midnight shift relief worker in a shelter for women and children resisting domestic violence. Since then, she has become passionate/obsessive in the fields of sexual trauma, intergenerational trauma, child victimisation and complex PTSD amongst other things. Jennifer pulls from evidence based therapies (including ACT, AEDP, CBT, DBT, EMDR) while practising from an intersectional feminist lens. She is creative and curious in her supervision work, with the audacious goal of leaving the field more feminist than when entered. Need more details?
