Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based approach to counselling that helps people develop a more flexible relationship with difficult thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Instead of trying to eliminate discomfort, ACT uses mindfulness, acceptance, and self-compassion to help clients identify what matters to them and take meaningful actions guided by their personal values. ACT can support concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, chronic pain, and major life transitions.
