Victoria Klausen is accepting new clients.

Welcome — I’m Victoria Klausen (she/her)!

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with over seven years of experience in the mental health field and a passion for helping folks navigate life’s complexities and challenges with compassion and curiosity.

I offer both in-person and virtual sessions for individual and relationship counselling. I offer weekday (Monday/Friday), evening (Tuesday/Wednesday) and Saturday sessions. As an RCC, my services are typically covered by extended health coverage and direct billing may be available.

Counselling for People Pleasers & Caregivers

As someone who grew up in the role of eldest daughter, peacekeeper and mediator, I understand what it can mean to carry responsibility, attune to others, and learn to navigate the world in ways that don’t always leave space for your own needs, emotions, or instincts. While opening up to vulnerability can often feel challenging and uncomfortable, carrying everything on your own often ends up being even more difficult.

Building Self-Esteem & Inner Confidence

While I love working with people from all walks of life, I might be a particularly good fit for you if you are someone who feels anxious, fearful of disappointing others, prone to overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or self-doubt, and wants to build a life that feels more authentic, connected, and aligned with who you truly are. We’ll work together to understand where these patterns come from and as counselling progresses, many people notice they are better able to trust themselves, feel more confident in their decisions, and are more able to do things that once felt out of reach.

Coping with Uncertainty & Anxiety

This is a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out. Our work together can look like learning how to tolerate both the uncertainty and fullness of life, embracing joy and experimenting with new and different ways to feel more yourself, rather than relying on control or self-protection.

I believe that healing and growth involve nurturing your whole self—your relationships, your connection to yourself, and your engagement with the world around you. We may explore how movement, nature, spirituality, community, and culture can support your well-being, recognizing that counselling is not separate from your life, but deeply connected to it.

Counselling for Relationships, Grief & Substance Use Challenges

Whether you’re struggling with relationship issues, grieving a loss, or questioning your relationship with alcohol or other substances, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

I work with individuals and couples facing communication challenges, conflict, life transitions, betrayal, caregiving and grief. I also support people who are sober, considering cutting back, exploring their relationship with alcohol or drugs, or living with the effects of a loved one’s substance use.

Whatever brings you to therapy, we’ll work together to better understand what’s happening beneath the surface and help you move toward healthier relationships—with yourself and the people who matter most.

Free 15-Minute Counselling Consultation

I’m honoured to do this work and would love to connect with you if you resonate with any of the above. You can book a free 15-minute consultation call or your first session here.

It depends on what you want. Most clients fall into one of three categories:

  1. One (or two) and done – I just want some advice to move forward on a problem. Cool, just let me know that so I can make sure the session will be focused.
  2. Acute issue – I need some support to resolve an issue, but I don’t want to be in counselling forever. This usually takes 8-12 sessions but could be shorter or longer based on your needs (time, financial, issue complexity). We create the ideal structure together.
  3. Long-term therapeutic relationship – I need a safe space to process life events. Sessions are often booked up to a year in advance so you can count on the structure and support. The topic often changes session to session, but relates back to an overarching theme of self-development, relationship management, or something of that nature.

I can’t tell you which issues fall into which bucket, or guarantee results, because each client is unique. It’s best to let me know which category you think you might fall into, we can check and adjust as needed.

What experience or background do you bring to your counselling and supervision practice that is uniquely yours?

I’ve spent over five years working in public mental health, primarily supporting clients in community housing. I’ve always felt drawn to counseling, but I wanted hands-on experience to be sure it was the right path for me. After years of working and volunteering, I know without a doubt that this is the work I’m meant to do. I genuinely love connecting with people and feel honored to support them in whatever way is meaningful to them. As someone born and raised in the Vancouver area, I’m passionate about helping people in this community.

What is your favourite thing about working closely with people every day?

I’ve always been drawn to work that connects me with people every day. Whether in the service industry or as a receptionist, I’ve naturally chosen roles that allow me to engage with new people each day. As a counsellor, I’m excited to build even deeper, more meaningful connections—offering a safe, supportive space where clients can feel supported on their journey. I also love that this work is dynamic and ever-changing, and that I have the privilege of learning from the unique story and experience of every client I work with.

What have you learned from your work?

I’ve learned the importance of staying curious. It’s easy to make assumptions, but every time those assumptions are challenged, I’m reminded of how unique each person’s experience is. Keeping an open mind and embracing the unknown leads to deeper understanding and more meaningful connections.
